"Now there's a face only a mother could love." Finally catching clear sight of his foe, Chester reeled back ever slightly, more concerned than shocked by Jaldoa's apparent deformities. "...if she even survived birthing it. Seems no soul gets fortunate outside the city either." It was rare to see a mutant this drastic pass their first birthday, let alone survive through to maturity -- but despite its gangly looks, it moved and acted without difficulty, perhaps even surpassing that of Human ability. Maybe it was sheer luck, but it almost gave Chester the feeling Jaldoa was more than a mere victim of radiation... His foe wasted no time continuing his assault, swiftly turning back with its club raised. However, with his catalyst in place, no longer did Chester hold the disadvantage. His hand had not left his giant Vertex from the moment he summoned it -- and intentionally so, as a pulsing glow flickered from where he made contact. Suddenly, a spray of cyan sparks accented a speeding dash, accelerating Chester beyond natural limits as he travelled along his Vertex's path. In no time at all had he flashed long past Jaldoa's right, cleanly evading past his first rightward swing, and escaping any successive attack which followed. His feet touched upon the Troll's previous position, bringing him to a faultless halt. The glowing rail he held to decelerated him just as quickly -- only to launch himself just as quickly in the opposite direction, mimicking Jaldoa's earlier actions. If the Troll failed to react, Chester would approach rapidly from his blind side, finally parting from his charged Vertex as he took to the offensive. The cracked, more portable Vertex was held high and across himself in his right hand, intending to strike down upon Jaldoa's collar or neck.
