She smiled as she chewed on the dried meat. She hadn’t been able to just run with someone else in a long time. His aura was so comforting. It was quite different from his father’s. She didn’t understand how the two could be related but even know, if she dug into his aura she could feel it. She wondered how he could hide it so well. He had not received the training she had. He could not heal himself and yet he could mask portions of his aura. She wondered how he did it. It was a very useful skill to have. She figured if she could figure out how to mask one's own aura, or at least part of it, then she could figure out how to block out the auras of others. She frowned at the turn in her thoughts and looked at Zayden’s back as he ran. At any point in time, especially once she is on his turf, he could hurt her. She wondered just how much he took after his father. His father’s aura was suffocating to her. If she were well fed, like she was at this moment, she would be okay, but the moment she let her guard down, it would overtake her and she was afraid of what they could do to her then. But for now she would put her faith in Zayden. She would hope that her reading of him had been accurate. She would hope that she did not end up dead because of trusting him.
