Other than having joined in the laughter at Sodalite's antics, Evenkite remained mostly quiet, simply taking in Aquamarine and Spinel's words along with the sight of the ravaged area of town, too absorbed in the sights (another advantage of being held by Amber was just how much more she could see) and her thoughts to bother responding, never mind deal with the mess that was her hair. Her eyes scanned out for the familiar face of Johnny, for as little as she had known him, she was concerned for his well being. After all, Aquamarine has said that the Red Eye wanted to know exactly where 'we' are, 'we' referring to the other gems. He had no part in this and got involved anyways, which wasn't fair to the little gem. As they continued on their way, Evenkite eventually broke her silence, asking, "Um, Aquamarine, ma'am, may I make a suggestion?" She waited until she was sure she had her attention before continuing. "If we're going to help the townsfolk, maybe we should split up to cover more ground? After all, there's more than enough of us to do so, and if you're concerned about potential dangers, we could split into two groups; you in one, Amber on the other, since you two seem to be the strongest gems. That way, we'll have enough protection on both ends." Part of this was indeed the desire to cover more ground as she had stated, but she also had two ulterior motives. The first was the need to do something, anything useful for the group, for even something as simply as such a suggestion being accepted would feel like a war won after being what she thought of as a needless hindrance to the group, and the second was simply to have some distance between Aquamarine and her. Her feelings on the older gem were beginning to conflict with her previous ones, and she needed time to think them over away from her presence.
