I'm horrible with actual history, but I love the idea of an escape scene to start the setting. Characters would have to work together to survive, but not be in as much danger as a battle of sorts.

As for what Jim said, it sounds like more others are willing to go with Jerusalem but I'd be willing to support a different starting setting if others didn't mind it either.
