Spinel listened closely to both Aquamarine's and Bloodstone's words.  She was taken aback by how emotional Aquamarine got.  [i]Wha... what?[/i]  Did she really care about anything they were talking about?  For the most part not really, but it occurred to her that she did have some interest in hearing what she was created for.  Having that one question answered would shed light on nearly everything that had been confusing her until this point.  Nobody else seemed eager to ask any questions yet, and they seemed even less eager to be level-headed about this.  "Why was I made?" she asked.  Her expression was impossible to read, but her voice sounded apprehensive.
