Psi reskins was the intent for the "normal" or base powers, but I'm thinking of giving more powers as ParaCom got more understanding of magic during the years after the war.  Faust, the Infernal Empress, was able to shoot lighting from her fingertips not unlike Palpatine.  So yes, one idea is to give them more fantastical powers as they get stronger.
