So I'm back...Finally! Apparently, A-boat had to stick around for another 2 1/2 hours (double the practice!) so we could perfect our starts. Starts are where you take a 200 lbs boat full of 6 foot men who generally weigh at least 160 lbs (amounting to a 1480 lb estimate) and reaching top speed in 4 strokes. By the 4th stroke, you are moving back and fourth 5 feet while dragging an oar through the water every 1.5 seconds. Needless to say, Starts are the leading cause of chronic blisters. Also needless to say, after spending 2 hours on starts, there is a disturbingly small amount of skin between the surface, and the bone. I'm not going to lie, I typed this up because I'm ridiculously proud of how much pain I'm in right now.
