Every big enterprise like this needs a crazy amount of money- there will be no short supply of things needing payed for, or people needing to be bought off or bribed I'm sure. What I'm going for is someone who knows what they'll need when they start setting up on the planet: food preserves, medicine, water preserves, supplies for setting up camp and establishing a base to work from. Also potential plant and crop stocks, and simple but increadibly nessessary multiuse tools. Someone who's been dreaming of going to mars and living on it no matter the expense and a whole lot of time on their hands to plan for it. (This could also include the womb thing- but i'd like to know more about it as i'm not exactly sure what you mean?) I could also play an excon character who's involved with smuggling the weapons and such and such you need. Someone who's looking for a better life far far far away from earthly crimminals and gov types and willing to do whatever it takes to get off planet. Whichever works best for you. Or both! I'm easy!
The ship should have some of the supplies we need, as the military might need a forward base on the planet, but with every thing being 60 years old, replacements would be necessary for much of it. Seeds will definitely need to be replaced, as will much of the plastic stuff due to dry rot, including the inflatable domes I planned on using as our main buildings (inflate, then inject the support balloons ribbing the dome with hardening foam so that it doesn't collapse if we get a leak. By "artificial wombs" I mean a glass jar with a membrane in it that a fertilized egg can be attached to, then nutrients fed to it. It will allow us to create new people and animals without needing a person or animal to carry the fetus to term. Guns won't be that necessary, as there might not be an enemy, and the ship will have old military weapons on it, but we can print them if we need to.
