Laila is a rare breed. A Hybrid. She is half angel half demon. Her mother is an angel and her father is a demon, one of the main fallen angels that fell with Lucifer. They were in love before he fell, they kept on with their now forbidden affair. Her mother became pregnant with Laila. She was born into the heavens. Of course God found out. He gave Leilas mother an ultimatum. She could stay in heaven with him and her family, all she had to do was never see her lover again and send her child down to the pits of hell to let her stay with her father. On the other hand, her child, Laila, could stay in heaven and have a perfect life, be brought up as an Angel. All she had to do was be cast down to the Earth, with all her memories erased, a kindness as most who committed an offence like this would be cast down to the fiery pits of hell. Her mother chose to be cast down. She wanted her daughter to live as an angel. She loved Leila's father very much but she couldn't allow her daughter to be brought up as a demon. 

Laila grew up and watched over her mother as she lived, grew old and eventually died. She lived a good life and she was there to greet her mothers spirit upon death to guide her into the light. As she grew up, besides watching over her mother, she had many lessons on how to subdue her demon side. 

By the time she managed to keep it under control she was given a specialised job from God. She guards and protects hybrid humans. Because of Laila's powers, she would be the best for the job. She has fought demons in the past as they have tried to take her to the underworld. When she is around powerful demons, or a large amount of them, she finds it harder to control her demonic side, her judgement is off. She always has to fight herself as well as the demons. She has never failed yet. She is pure.

Her eyes are the only indicator to who her Father is. If she were to succumb to evil, she would become a dark angel. It isn't an immediate transition. It takes time for it to happen, her wings would slowly turn black. It has happened before when she has fought demons, or spent too long on Earth, a few of her feathers turned. When this happens she retreats to Heaven for a period of time. For her to be able to think straight and get her mind under control.[/hider]

[hider=Bio]Usually depicted as male but in my world, he's a she. She is essentially the Grim Reaper in the Egyptian lore. She doesn't have any particular 'powers' as such. She is an embalmer as well as the 'protector of graves'. Her main role is weighing the souls purity/truthfulness. If it is un true then Ammit (A demon, also her best friend and pet -she's a cross between a hippo, lion and a crocodile) eats their heart, it is considered 'dying a second time' and then that soul becomes restless for all eternity and can never gain access to the realm of the dead (Duat Aka Underworld)[/hider]
