Hugh was surprised by the sudden answer from Sana. He thought she was more attentive to what Artos had to say of her jewelry. Still, the smile that Sana gave to him allowed him to realize how serious what she was about to tell him would be. Someone who I loved very deeply. The words stung a little, making him feel a little jealous, but then he came to his senses. He had someone like that too, once. That someone was no longer alive. Hugh nodded at her inquiring of him if he remembered her telling him she was a gypsy. He hadn't thought of it much. He had never encountered gypsies and really had no idea other than they were storytellers and entertainers of sorts. They were known for their music. Hugh heard they were bad news, but he had never had the personal experience to learn anything more. When she said the words dredge up the past Hugh looked at her, interested as to what more she was to say. It appeared very important and sounded like a burden she had to carry. He would not be one to deny his full attention, as he hoped she might listen well on the day he would tell her about his full past. The day he would tell her of his late wife. He listened, noting all the different colorful jobs there were in a troupe of gypsies. He was fascinated for a little, until she arrived at courtesan. What the fuck was that? He took a moment, mulling it over in his thick skull before he realized it. It took all the clues she gave him. Obviously these cluse were not given on purpose. Nonetheless, he had arrived at the solution that was staring him in the face. A courtesan was a prostitute. The girl he was in love with was almost made into a prostitute. A little rage suddenly built up inside of him as he felt himself tense up at the thought of anyone else with her for just a one night fling. He felt his fists clench in anger at the thought, but he let it go, reaching into his saddle bag and preparing it for smoking. He let loose what anger he had into giving spark to a leaf of tobacco in his pipe. Soon it had caught and Hugh started puffing. It helped to vent the slight bit of anger he felt. Enough to keep listening. He looked at her, his head nodding as he took it all in. He wasn't sure what to say, he thought a better reaction would be to hold her. So he moved in closer and brought her closer to him. He brought his hand up to the other side of her head and planted a kiss on her head, simply bringing her closer to him. He felt his words would not be of any use or benefit at the moment. He wasn't even sure what to say. He pulled his head back and simply wrapped his arm around her, bringing her close up against him. "You'll find her again." He said quietly. He had said it with certainty, as he knew she at least left that someone alive.
