"My oath is my bond. With which I shall endure unbowed and unbent. My faith, my shield. With which I shall stand undaunted. My duty, my strength. With which I shall remain steadfast My zeal, my arms. With which I shall wage war." These words were hushed across the vox, as the Chaplain knelt on the bloody floor professing his faith, words which granted him strength when the darkness was strongest and the light bleakest, the will to fight the words whispered in his ear, the vision flashing before him of blood and death, and the tendrils which threatened to pull him into the abyss. The Chaplains resolve was stronger than that. The Chaplain rose, seeing his brothers being pulled down by the groping tendrils as they fought it's most unholy pull. "Brothers, you must fight! Not with steel but with your will and faith. I fear weapons will be useless here. Remain strong and devout, I will see you free of this taint and the hellspawn which is to blame!" The Chaplains voice bellowed before being muted by the Daemons own. The voice of the damned, asking of him to slay his brethren, to betray everything he was and stood for, in return for his life. There would be no life worth living if he betrayed his kin, to die fighting was honor incarnate. For the first time, the Chaplain let free a howl of laughter. "You degenerate! I shall not bargain with Daemons, fiends and impure all! My arms are at the Emperor's command. I answer to no other, living or dead. You have tested me, and now you shall be tested, before all of Terra and Mankind! This day, you face Aleros, Chaplain of the Black Templars!" The Templars voice boomed over the vox for all to hear, followed by a storm of bolter rounds released from the Chaplain's own Storm bolter towards the throne at the length of the room. Aleros began his charge, this would be his crusade to wage against the dark, and quite possibly his last.
