Name: Sun Wukong to any of the Fables that know him, to the Mundies he is known as Sonny Wu the Kung Fu Dude (this will be explained later) Nickname: Generally known as Monkey, Monkey King (preferred Handsome Monkey King) or to the more religious Buddha (a Buddha not THE Buddha) Race: Monkey/Humanoid Fable Gender: Male Apperance:

When glamored Sonny appears to be your typical Chinese immigrant trying too hard to be American. His messy dirty blonde hair hangs around his ears and his face is almost always covered in scruff. Sonny generally tries to wear his gold framed aviators and prefers to wear his standard wrinkled red and white Hawaiian shirt with his dirty black muscle shirt that he keeps tucked into his "karate" pants. The pants seem to be held up by his tattered and worn out black belt and his feet are almost always covered in sandals. Sonny has an unnatural obsession for gold wearing everything from a "Rolex" (that's what the "salesman" he met on the street said) to a painfully tacky gold chain. Job: Owner and Sensei of Sonny Wu's Kung Fu School Personality: Wukong by his very nature has been described as a "naughty monkey". From time immemorial he has been known to play pranks on the gods and immortals of China sometimes taking them too far without realizing it. Wukong's temper is infamous since he has actually assaulted the Celestial Emperor's palace because he was not given the respect that thought he deserved. Fable: A Journey West Once Upon A Time...on top of the Mountain of Fruit and Flowers sat a stone that was formed when Heaven and Earth first collided. From that stone came an egg and from the egg came a stone monkey, this is the birth of Sun Wukong. Wukong's early life was filled with adventures in which he, known as the Handsome Monkey King after leading his fellow monkeys to the Steel Curtain's Waterfall, led his fellow monkeys in causing mischief to all those whose path they crossed. As time passed and Wukong grew into a man his strength and skill grew, as did his arrogance. He believed himself equal to that of the Celestial Emperor and began causing trouble for him and his bureaucracy although Wukong did not receive the results that he desired. After he was given a minor title and sent on his way Wukong became outraged and declared himself "The Great Sage Equal to Heaven" by placing a giant banner stating such and placed it on top of the Mountain of Fruit and Flowers. Outraged at his arrogance, the Celestial Emperor sent 100,000 Jade Soldiers to bring him to justice. After thwarting all who came before him Wukong continued to torment the Emperor until finally the Emperor gave the title of Guardian of the Sacred Peach Grove. Finally satisfied, Wukong took the position with great pride although his natural curiosity would give him one of the greatest gifts of all time. After eating one of the Sacred Peaches Wukong was given immortality something normally reserved for the Emperor and his court. As the time of the Emperors celebration drew near, a time when he and his court gather to drink the Elixir of Immortality a pair of faeries stopped and made fun of Wukong and told him that he was not important enough to attend such a prestigious event. Outraged, Wukong launched a full out assault on the Emperor's Palace defeating any who stood in his path and leaving as much destruction in his wake. After dealing with the infuriating Monkey King for so long the Celestial Emperor finally turned to Buddha for help. Buddha responded by trapping Wukong underneath Five Elements Mountain for five hundred years. At the end of time underneath the mountain Buddha told Wukong that for causing trouble in the Celestial Bureaucracy he was to be sent out into the world to obtain enlightenment and atone for his sins. In his travels he headed east aiding a monk to obtain sacred sutras ensuring that he did not meet his end along the Silk Road. It was here along the road that he began to see the true purpose of what the Celestial Emperor did and slowly began changing his way of thinking and in time, at the end of their journey, Wukong achieved Enlightenment and took his place at Buddha's side. When the Adversary began its march across his lands Wukong could not stand by while the gods and immortals were slowly wiped away Wukong left his place at Buddha's side to aid those that called themselves Fables and in time grew to love his new surroundings, even opening up a martial arts school within the heart of what is known as Fable-Town taking on the moniker of "Sonny Wu the Kung Fu Dude". The overwhelming response from Mundies and Fables alike once again began to fuel his ego and he has since began debating if he will return once the treat of the Adversary is vanquished. Abilities: Ruyi Jingu Bang- Sun Wukong's signature weapon, Jingu Bang has the ability to change its shape and size based upon its users will. After wielding this shape-shifting staff for so long, Wukong has learned his to use this in combat. While the true staff stays in the ethereal realm with Buddha he was granted a staff with similar properties to use while on Earth. Golden Armor of the Dragon King- This armor enhances Wukong's already immense strength. After Wukong left Buddha's side the armor lost all of its magical properties Master of the Tao- Wukong has mastered the seventy-two transformation arts of the Tao although some of the transformations are a bit harder for him to manage some of them since he has never really figured out what to do with his tail. While most his transformations are smaller creatures (i.e. small animals which take little effort) larger creatures take more time and meditation to perform and require more chi to maintain. Magic Hair- Every strand of hair on Wukong's head can be plucked and used in some sort of magic usually in the form of illusions of himself or weapons to give himself an advantage. Xuanzang's Golden Crown- While not an actual ability for him to use, the crown was given to him by the now Buddha Xuanzang in order to restrict his powers. While it does this job beautifully, to those that know the mantra the Crown will constrict while emitting holy energy causing him immense pain and weakness.
