[@NRVNQSR]: My mistake about the skill. Masters can't have Servant skills but with how bad some characters I've seen pop up in old Fate RP's on another site have been I was worried for a moment. Still, the combination of things here is something I have to take issue with. If he can perceive what any magic does instantly it's very hard to counter him and he could still easily figure out what NP is by what it does, and therefore figure out what the Servant's identity is. He can also very easily counter any defensive magecraft anywhere. This comes from a "fun in RPing" angle, too. Wouldn't it be more fun to write him needing to work really hard for infiltration and using counterspells to penetrate defenses then just coasting through it? The same kind of goes for the Noble Phantasm, honestly. Also, wouldn't the NP have a really heavy mana cost? And possibly need some weird things to use it? Remember, Bazett has to spend days making the iron balls for Fragarach.
I don't know about your first point regarding the eyes. If I knew Excalibur fired a beam of light I wouldn't know it would be King Arthur's lol. I will remove parts about knowing the processes and stuff of the weapon/object because maybe then I could say he knows where the stuff came from and then have a really good guess. Also for figuring out stuff, he only uncovers what is a direct and possible threat to him. Also I don't believe there are such things as complex as a counterspell. A 5 prana fireball dies to a 6 prana magic missile. A 10 prana boundary field gets trashed by a 11 prana random mook blast. It's just a fundamental brute forcing over whatever is in front of you. Of course, the point of the eyes is to know the structure of a defensive field or spell which allows you to know its weaknesses. It doesn't mean a lovely deity in the sky rains down tools for the guy to immediately dismantle any defense he sees just because he knows its weaknesses. He knows stuff, but he won't be able to counter it unless its done by a third rate magus who also has no mind about concealing his stuff. Dismantling something like Kayneth's field will take resources this guy won't ever have. It's a handy more in depth structural analysis(Which any magus can do). I also never intended this character to be the type to brute force through stuff like your implying. He has no combat ability, nor does he directly have the capacity to harm others. He just knows stuff and doesn't try to die. -Gonna reword the eyes to clarify what I wanted to say- For the cap, I'm pretty sure it should have a lesser burden than Fragararch. It's an E ranked noble phantasm that's also highly situational. It also is not an activated NP, being something that already has its effects in the materials its made out of considering people with no magical aptitude at all have used it. If it reversed causality and fired laser beams of doom I understand your point, but this cap is like an utility thing that doesn't do a lot, considering that it can't even stealth you completely. Anyways, if you want me to add a mana cost on it, sure. The character has negative power in combat, so its not like mana costs would have ever mattered. -Thanks to Stir for telling me about the stuff I'm talking about-
