Rue sobs a little longer before finally gathering himself up enough to pull back. He leans back just far enough to look up into the guardian's face, arms still clutching his lord's sides. After a few steadying breaths he takes one big one and begins speaking. “I know I don't have to, but I should, because what I did made you hurt. I didn't blame you, and I don't, and I should have done my part as one of yours to make sure I didn't do anything to make you sad.” Hiccuping slightly he continues. “I know you were worried and I shouldn't have hung close to Seishu for comfort, when that's your job not his. And I shouldn't have turned away to begin with. I mean, I meant well, I didn't want you to feel responsible for what happened since it's just as much my fault for charging in close to him when it was obvious he wouldn't be in the mood to have anyone that close. I was being foolish, so you shouldn't feel bad about my injury, even though Seishu is right and you were being forgetful too.” Smiling up at Enasi he hardly seems to take a breath as he rambles on. “I mean, I forget things all the time, and if got as sad as you when I goof up every time I think I'd just die after five or six times, and that would be bad. But you don't make mistakes all that much, and it's not like you you did anything bad. Forgetting isn't something to get all worked up about.” Releasing Enasi with one hand he reach up to cut his scared cheek. “The doctors didn't do a bad job, I asked them to let me have this scar. See, Seishu says that all of his scars are reminders of really important things, and because of them he never makes the same mistake twice, and since it was my mistake that gave me this burn, I think it'll do the same for me.” He stops just long enough to giggle before adding, “Beside I think it makes me look cool!” Before Enasi can reply Rue starts right back up. “One more thing Lord Enasi, because I want you to know how I feel.” His expression becomes very serious as he speaks. “I really wanna stay with Mister Seishu for now, maybe for as long as he's here. He looked so happy when you mentioned that guy who sent the message, I know he may not be nice, but he cares about them over there a lot, and they obviously care about him a lot. He said they wouldn't have gotten through so fast if it wasn't a rescue, and when he talks about them over there I can see how worried he is.” Looking down at his feet his voice drops ever so slightly. “I may not be able to be one of them, but he's so alone here, and everyone else either hates him or is afraid of him, and that just makes me so sad. He seems happy when I can sit and listen to him, and we share a sense of humor, so I think that if I can at least offer those little kindnesses to him, he'll be less lonely and maybe recover faster.” His expression still very serious he looks back up into Enasi's eyes. “You are my lord, Lord Enasi, but for a little while, I would like permission to be with Mister Seishu when I'm not needed.” His face slips into a somewhat amused grin as he adds, “Besides, even if you said no, we both know I would find my way in there.” Then suddenly as if a thought struck him he says with a full blown grin, “Oh, and Mister Seishu is the one who sent me. I think he's worried about you, and he says when you're feeling better that I'm suppose to tell you something.” He adopts a confused expression. “He said he could tell you're upset because of some sort of Guardian thing, I wonder what he meant. . . .” His voice trails off and at last he falls silent.
