They don't know the extent of his power but know he is an extremley powerful individual. So it might seem plausible to Konrad that he did ressurect her. Plus I'm pretty sure the emotion of seeing somebody he loved again would cloud his judgement a little bit. 

Either this or Konrad returns in time to see both guards mutiliated without an obvious culprit o3o
