True though first few things that come to mind is: interrogation, torture (woke up earlier and among the first taken), or possibly snuck onboard (least liked..).

I know a few hours in that one chamber that kills your senses will mess you up some. >_>  That's one option unless [@MonkeyBusiness] has other ideas to toss.
