I wish I could contribute something of value but yeah... you may want to look into it being heat exhaustion Loony.

So I have some kind of good news, my laptop sort of started working again, I just had to jiggle the screen around for a while and have it on a flat surface.  As long as I don't move it AT ALL I should be able to get some more use out of it.
