Kahl found himself on the receiving end of a magic attack with a sense of weightlessness pervading his body as his rose at an increasing pace higher and higher above the ground. He just let the spell run its course as he began to be pulled down like if he was being sucked to ground.  Trying to slow the upcoming slam he positioned his sword to touch a wall as it carved a deep gouge into it until it got stuck and he let go as the pull was strong but he was much lower than at the start. The slam still hurt but nowhere near as badly it would had he not done anything. 

He quickly ran up the wall to retriever the blade and just in time! The big beefy dude seems to have tossed a monster his way.  Tendrils of slime shot from his blade becoming one thick cord that slingshotted the monster even faster towards him and into the sword. The end result was a monster kebab before erupting into green pyreflies. He then ran to attack both monsters at once.
