As the group moved out Sam took the time to take in the finer details of his companions, realising now in the light of the streets, that the priest had a strip of cloth covering his eyes. His first reaction being contempt, there was no room on such an important mission to be helping along a useless blind man, however he pushed these thoughts away quickly, Brother Vas would not have been picked if not capable. Turning his head to the sky, he observed the dark clouds that foreshadowed a storm gathering overhead, his mind wondered if Vas could sense change in the weather by other means or if he was left unawares of the weather until its arrival. In an effort to break the silence that had followed them since the Emperor's halls, Sam turned his head towards Vas and asked "Forgive me Brother, but your eyes. Were you blind from birth, or did something steal you of your sight?".
