[@Lugia] I'll include the race portion, and yeah, that's what I had planned on. Since there are no dragon stones or beast stones in Ivalice, they'd have to adopt traditional classes. Now that's not saying they didn't bring their own, but those who come from Ylisse will know who and what they are... Now the people of Ivalice would be frigging baffled, but once they see them fighting Risen and Undead- they probably will get the idea. Basically, the bloodshed on both planes -for lack of a better term- synced them closer than they would've been otherwise. As such, with Grima's defeat, he was ousted from his own plane and saw Ivalice as the closest one to invade. So since the two planes exist so close together, the transfer between the two planes isn't to taxing on the mind and soul, and thus they remain intact. Now if you're from ff8 (for example) you're so far away from the planes that transporting you here was much more traumatizing, causing you to forget most of what you knew. You'll still understand your skills, but you don't know how you came about them. In a sense, you'll be just like Robin was at the beginning of the game of FE:A (which is why Robin will be an NPC, to help people with their amnesia). Now if you would like to reference Balthier from WotLs, he was a special case as an artifact did the transfer, not a rift. I'm not going to be inclined to accept many (if any) characters that have that special circumstance, but you'll have to remember you won't have access to magitech armor and other items. So even if you knew, you wouldn't have any to pilot.
