Name Blue Dragon Order Symbols The Blue Dragon uses... well, a blue dragon as their crest and banner, but only the head of it. Note: The head doesn't look as evil as one might think a head of a blue dragon would look like. On banners and flags, the blue dragon is printed upon a white background. History The organization of the Blue Dragon is hundreds of years old and was established as a military defence force. Back when Faunus had their own land a time came when the Grimm activity suddenly surged. Lots of villages fell to the monsters and the authorities of the Faunus cities decided to create a vanguard force to drive the monsters back into the forests. It worked very well and the government decided to keep the Blue Dragons around. So the Blue Dragons formed an Order to keep the peace and the Grimm at bay. Years later, though, the assimilation happened and the humans began to take over everywhere. Even the Faunus cities where either abandoned or the Faunus were forced to relocate to make way for dubious mining operations. In vain the Blue Dragon Order tried to hold against that, but soon enough, the humans forced them to disband and that was it. Or at least that was what the humans thought. Rapidly the Blue Dragon Order, whose membership in was illegal, focused on becoming a liberation force. If they couldn't get the land back that the Faunus once owned, they would at least try to get Faunus to the same legal level as humans in all of the kingdoms. It was an uphill battle indeed and literally a battle. The authorities clamped down on the Blue Dragon Order hard and lots of brave Faunus died trying to fight for Faunus' rights in court and in the governments. But then, the unspeakable happened. The human kingdoms deported all Faunus', including the members and leaders of the Blue Dragons, to the southern continent of Menagerie. Naturally that didn't sit well with any Faunus and soon enough simple rebellions against the deportations escalated into a bloody war. Faunus fought fiercely, but until the third year of the war, the Faunus were losing a lot of battles. This was because the Faunus didn't have any trained soldiers whereas the humans did. However, the Blue Dragon Order managed to win important battles that kept the Faunus with one foot in the war. That was until the Battle of Fort Castle. The Blue Dragons were at the vanguard of this operation and essential for the capture of General Lagune. This battle was the turning point of the war. General Lagune's army provided a third of the human's entire military manpower and it was sorely missed on a lot of fronts. Now on the back foot, the support from the civilian populace dwindled quickly and the human military leadership saw themselves suddenly on the losing side. Not long afterwards a expeditionary force of the Blue Dragons managed to infiltrate the camp of the army leadership and capture the remaining enemy Generals. Incapable of fighting orderly and with no morale whatsoever, one army after another surrendered until just the hardcore racists remained. The civilian governments saw themselves without army and accepted the truce of a similarly exhausted Faunus force. In the peace talks, the human kings agreed to let the Faunus live amongst them in their kingdoms and signed a treaty to rule against laws that were aimed at discriminating against Faunus. Now without military need against the humans, the Blue Dragon Order focused again on protecting settlements of Faunus and humans against relentless attacks of Grimm. A few years later, though the leadership pf the Blue Dragons became incredibly frustrated with the constant attempts of humans to introduce laws that would further enhance the inequality of Faunus and humans, so they took it upon themselves to support Faunus rights groups like the White Fang up to the point where the White Fang turned bloody. Suddenly the Blue Dragon Order faced the decision to either go with the White Fang or to go against them and risk getting hated by Faunus as well. But a certain atrocity committed by the White Fang evoked a fierce response from the Blue Dragons. They declared, they would not support violence to achieve goals of equality until absolutely necessary and they would start to train soldiers again. Elite forces and hunters that should have the goal of striking against anything that would harm the bettering relations of humans and Faunus, like the White Fang. They also took in Faunus orphans and trained them in warfare, medicine and social care. One of those orphans who got trained in warfare was a Cat Faunus named Skyra Dawn... Administration The Blue Dragon Order is autonomous and does not act for governments. It is lead by the Grand Master who manages the Order and gives out titles like "Master of Coin" or "High Command" to which a council of elders and highly decorated rookies has to agree to. They can also suggest titles and operations tot he Grand Master, but he has to approve them. Only matters of importance are handled directly by the High Commander and the council of Generals who are tasked to lead combat missions. Every other subdivision, like the medical wing, or the lawyers or the social workes have a similar organization. The Blue Dragons get their funding from either wealthy people or from missions and the fees they apply for asking them for help, which will always depend on the financial situation of the one who is calling for help. Society The Order is a pretty loose bunch, mostly grouped in their respected branches. Since the military branch is by far the oldest, they do bring a lot of traditions with them. For example, each year, on the day of the victory at Fort Castle, the military people gather outside the hold in a massive square equipped with halberds and when the clock strikes midnight, they light the tips of the halberds on fire and stomp them into the ground rhythmically all at once for at least ten minutes. Then one line after the other marches back into the hold while the lines still remaining still pound the dirt. Assets As mentioned before the Blue Dragon Order has multiple branches with the military branch being the biggest. They also own a castle which is dedicated to the military. Another stronghold, which is located close to said castle near Atlas is the governance building and the building for all the other branches. At the moment, they are constructing a new hold outside of Vale to increase their influence over that kingdom, especially since so many reports of White Fang activity have been received around Vale. Size The military branch has shrunken a lot since the war. During the high period in the war, the Blue Dragons had about 100.000 soldiers and additionally 1.000 elite troops. Nowadays the military branch has about 15.000 members and the others combined tally in at about 20.000. One has to note, those numbers are for the entire organisation across all of Remnant, not only of those holds around Atlas and the new one around Vale. Of the 15.000 military members, 500 are elite members and 9.500 are staff, which leads to an actual count for soldiers at 5.000, which is not a lot considering all.
