Interest Check Thread: http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/83614-mid-high-casual-the-wings-of-the-seraph/ooc#post-2845973 ---
Magic
Magic exists in the world, however, humans do not have the natural affinity for it. For starters, gifted humans are born with the aether potential, which is to say they have potential magical affinity. However, before these gifted ones can use magic, they have to use a conduit that acts as the medium of the Aether and the human host; a tool to represent their magic, if you will. Hence, sorcerers always have a magical item with them that allows them to perform their magical affinity like staves, runes, gauntlets and the like. These Magical Conduits are not easy to find, much less create. Some of these artefacts are extremely pricey in the black market. It is not uncommon to see magic users carrying multiple staves or even a lot of magical artefacts, however, the more they carry, the slower they move and the more prone they are to attacks. An example of this system would be, for example, Person A has a fire-based aether potential. Thus, if Person A wields a magic-infused blade, the sword can be imbued with fiery attacks as well as being able to manipulate fire due to the user's aether potential being channelled through the sword. There is one dangerous thing about magic, though. Unlike hand-to-hand combat where the fighters merely deplete their physical strength, magic users, after depleting their physical strength, can still use magic by drawing upon their own life energy. This makes their spells stronger and more efficient, however, it reduces their lifespan and, to a point, it can kill them.
Timeline
P.A refers to Pass Amorra which refers to the era after the supreme deity, Amorra, sacrifices himself to create the earth according to legends.
300 P.A - The Kingdom of Vualranur was created under the leadership of King Melkyal Jabril. 310 P.A - A civil war breaks out in Vualranur with the two leading clans of Iaoth and Zaazenach teaming together to defeat the tyrant Melkyal. 318 P.A - The civil war ended in the defeat of the Jabril monarchy. The son of the Zaazenach clan, Izrael, marries the daughter of the Iaoth clan, Liel, to strengthen the alliance of the two clans. 320 P.A - Izrael and Liel becomes the king and queen of the newly reformed Vualranur. 322 P.A - The Seraph guild was created alongside the other guilds. The Founding Four included Stezius Solace, Ostremura Opperen, Foutus Nyte, and Cuwarr Naxremis. 323 P.A - Liel gave birth to her son, prince Metaron. 325 P.A - Izrael hears of the Seraph's rise to power with the report that the Founding Four eliminated an entire guild by themselves. 330 P.A- The Seraphs begin to grow in number and strength, creating many enemies within the other established guilds. 335 P.A- Izrael sends a messenger to the Seraphs, asking for their service to his throne. The Seraphs responded by tearing off the messenger's arm, saying that it was disrespectful for the king to merely send a messenger. 336 P.A - Izrael personally visits the Seraph's guildhouse and, with his sincerity and words, obtained the alliance of the Founding Four and, effectively, the guild. 340 P.A - The Seraph signs the treaty with Izrael, vowing to aid the monarchy when the need arises. 370 P.A - The wandering invaders, Caphanelix, threatened to overrun Vualranur with their army of a million barbarians. For the first time, the Seraph aided the kingdom, sending their best against the invaders. Stezius, Foutus and Cuwarr died in the battle. Metaron ascends to the throne with his wife, Anaphiel. They already had two sons, Vak and Fanir. 420 P.A - The Caphanelix threat was squashed with the greatest war valour and awards going to the Seraph guild. Fanir ascends to the throne with his wife, Elise. They had a son named Kadmiel and a daughter, Elemiah. 450 P.A - The last of the founding four, Ostremura, dies at a very old age. For the first time, the Seraph guild was left on its own without a leader. 452 P.A - After a power vacuum in the guild, Saraqel ascends to the rank of Guild Master. 470 P.A - Saraqel's son, Adimus, marries Kadmiel's daughter, Harahel. Thus, effectively making Adimus the first non-zaazenach king. At this time, Saraqel leaves the guild to avoid any untoward rumours with the throne and the Seraphs. 482 P.A - Civil war erupts with a side hating the non-zaazenach king and the other side supporting him. The Seraphs sprang to action, siding with Adimus and Harahel, believing that they were still part of the bloodline. 483 P.A - The civil war ends with Adimus and Harahel still in the throne. 490 P.A - The monarchs reveal their son who they had hidden in fear of the civil war. The son was named as Sigrim. 500 P.A - Sigrim ascends the throne by marrying the daughter of Atami, the incumbent Seraph guild master. Atami leaves the guild as well, following in Saraqel's steps. Searsur is placed as the new guild master. 508 P.A - Prince Azrael was born but, within the year, Raqel, the queen, dies to a mysterious disease, leaving Sigrim to be depressed beyond repair. 524 P.A - King Sigrim dies due to depression, leaving the young Azrael to succeed the throne. 526 P.A - The Ninrus attacks Vualranur as Azrael also vanished. The Seraph guild was also destroyed alongside the other guilds. The only guild allowed to exist under the Ninrus rule is the Kronos.

The Situation
After the monarchy's defeat at the hands of the Ninrus Elders, the whole nation was placed into a state-of-calamity. Ninran soldiers can do whatever they want without consequences and the vualranians have to hide wherever they go. The very concept of justice, freedom and peace are more than just ideas; they are perspectives. In short, the newly conquered Vualranur is very unstable with Ninran spies and soldiers lurking all around. Thus, the survivors, along with prince Azrael, have hidden themselves from the world. They did menial jobs, changed their names, became a slave, became a prostitute... you name it. Of course, all of these hiding were not for naught. Before parting ways, Akriel had given each member a solid instruction: "In two years, after the world would believe that the Seraphs are no more, go to the place where the four founders lived and died. Ask the one in charge for the room of Lord Nemamiah. We'll see each other soon." Of course, the instruction pertains to the city of Salome, specifically, the Drabanom Inn. The four founders are not buried in one place. In fact, the four are scattered; one is buried in the north, the other south, another west and the last one east. The centre of these four burial sites all point to the aforementioned inn. Significantly, Drabanom was the place where the four founders first met each other. Thus, every member of the Seraph knows that the place where the founders 'lived' and 'died' pertained to that one inn. If it's a stave, does it release lightning bolts if the user has a lightning affinity? Again, if your character has no magical affinity, remove this portion) Skills (Anything that is not magical.
