Charlie was in his quarters, sitting sideways on his bed, his pillow behind him to cushion him against the wall, and reading. He had a little device, it folded up like a Chinese fan, but opened to a right angle with a holographic display between the frame. The edges outside of the two metal sides were blurry as the hologram couldn't extend further, but didn't have an actual border. He had data from around the galaxy, whatever he could pick up, on it, and it worked on a wireless connection to Lucille, where the large amount of data was actually kept. He had gotten the idea from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Right now, he was examining the chemical makeup of alien flora, and he finally found what he wanted. Charles got up and made his way to the cargo bay, from which Mason could be heard for miles. "I got a solution to the food problem," he announced, holding up the little holo fan. "This fruit is native to a planet in a system not far from here. It has essential proteins and sugars, and is safe for humans to eat. Don't know about you, Nix, sorry. It should tide the rest of us over, at least. And it grows on... something kind of similar to a vine?" he was looking at the fan again, "So we might even be able to grow it here on the ship."
