1. So does the blade stay thick for eight post? ^_. If so, I guess it's fine with me what you have considering the only thing that ability does is thickens the blade. But some people may not like that you can activate an ability just two post later after it deactivates....I think Abi & Kurisa could come in and judge on that one. I'm not so sure, but I think it's fine personally.

Should change the cooldowns for number two and three. Reasonable cooldown for number one would probably be two-three post, for number three the reasonable cooldown would have to be three-five.

Number four is fine.

Do you mean instant as in the gathered material shoots out as soon as you activate the ability?...If so, that's fine.
