Michelle woke up slowly, groaning. Her body ached and there was a particular spot on her neck which stinging in a way the rest of her body wasn't. I was studying, right? she thought to herself, I must have fell asleep. However, everything pointed to this being only a mere fact- there was obviously a lot more to it. For starters- why was she on a bed? The room was much darker then hers where the luminescent street lights flooded through the sides of the curtains but here the seemed to be no windows. As her eyes adjusted to the dark she noted a couple on bunk beds and one which she was on the bottom bunk. The room was hot compared to her little room in Bristol which never got near this hot. No air-conditioning she presumed. She wiped the sweat from the back of her neck with the back of the left hand, moving it to the side of her neck to feel new a small lump had made it's home. Needle-prick. They drugged me! Her eyes widen and she quickly brings herself to a sitting position and looks around the room frantically, that's when the light covered the room like a blanket, it's brightness bringing tears to her eyes. Michelle adverted her eyes, deciding not to look into the light. that was when a feminine voice spoke up. “What I am about to tell you, you cannot tell anyone else. If you do, there will be severe consequences. My name is Rylee Blacks, a.k.a. Agent Ice. You have been chosen for your skills, brains, and personality to be a part of the U. M. F., also known as the Underground Mission Force. We are not CIA, or FBI. We are not related to the government. We have called you here today for you to accept and begin your training with us. If you choose not to accept, your memory will be wiped and you will be sent home to live a normal, happy, dull life. But, if you do accept, you will leave your family, friends, and life behind and you will begin an entirely new life here. Are you willing to leave everything you know for the betterment of humanity? Each one of you must step up to the window and deliver your answer. There will be no questions, no explanations of who we are, what we do, and what your role is until we have gotten acceptance from those who want to be one of us. The door will not open until everyone has given their answer. Understood? Good. Now, one at a time, step up to the window to deliver your answer.” Was this woman serious? Michelle though to herself. The betterment of humanity, now that sounded good although the part where she had to leave everything behind didn't tickle her fancy. she stumbled out of the bed joining a small group at the mirror where everyone was accepting to join the cause. She pursed her lips, weighing her options. "I accept," she says softly, so softly in fact she wondered in, whomever the voice belonged too, could hear her
