Nathan is not big on the social aspect of life. It isn't like he dislikes people, he just can't ever seem to find the right thing to say, if at all, until the moment has passed. He is quick to help someone however he can and often does things with other people in mind and his interactions, few as they may be, are courteous
In his study, however, he becomes a completely different person. He retains some of his politeness, but he becomes more talkative, more enthusiastic, more sarcastic, and even a bit rude at times. You can definitely tell when he is in his element. 

Ͼ B I O Ͽ
Nathan decided early on that he wanted to be a practitioner. He was in no way cut out to be a harbinger or mercenary, and familiar just didn't feel right. The research opportunities are what sealed the deal. He's no more at home than when he's studying books or creating medicine. When it comes to actually helping people, (you know, the other half of the job?) his confidence is lacking. He works well with others, but when left alone with a patient, he gets anxious and pressure builds. The constant threat of a mistake and the risk it could carry haunts him. With time, he could become quite capable, but as it stands, he'll need some help.
