Since Bloodstone and Aquamarine gave their speeches to Melanite, I decided I would share a scrapped speech to Melanite, back when I was going for something very different for Eve's post. Lemme dig it up...

Bloodstone, who's a defender of his own kind and speaks most logically, but he's blatantly lied to me upon first meeting and caused us a bit of trouble, not with the Red Eye and the spider things. Anyways, he also gave my hair a trim but that's hardly anything to complain about and I'm sure that was just to scare me since I was being disrespectful to a commander. Then there's me, the one who quite frankly doesn't give a damn about sides. But I want to warn you now: I can't offer you anything nearly as valuable as those two, and in all honesty you'll probably be safer off in the presence of Aquamarine or Bloodstone, assuming you don't make him angry. I'm older than you but much younger than them. I don't know as much, I can't teach you as much. I'm not nearly as strong as them and if the need to protect you comes along, I'm not sure I'll be able to do that for you. I'm still learning as well. You feel free to join me if you decide that you don't want part of this either, but just know this in advance. It wouldn't be fair for you to come along without knowing the potential dangers you'll put yourself through, just as it wouldn't be fair to have joined Bloodstone without knowing the other options. If you come with me, I want you to know this very well. In the end, it is your choice, and it matters the least to me who's side you pick, for unlike Bloodstone or Aquamarine, if you join me, you are not guaranteed a friend, and if you do not, you are not guaranteed a foe. You will not be 'a Homeworld Gem' or 'a Crystal Gem', you will always simply be 'Melanite' to me. And whether 'Melanite' ends up being good or bad in my eyes depends on your actions as a person, not your alliance to a side." [/color]
