That and, moves won't be very important. I live by the 'Pokemon can use more than 4 moves because they aren't stupid.' philosophy. So if you think they can use it and it fits with what they're pokedex entry and stuff says, then go for it. Like, the list of moves pokemon can learn? Yeah, they can realistically know all of those. However, they can only perform some of them very well. Just... be realistic in what they can and cannot do. Play fair if fights should happen. I dunno. 

This is a chill RP so fighting should be too regular unless it's sparring between pokemon. Which in the first iteration of this, Luke commented to himself that Akira needed to spar. Lel.
