Six years ago Dominique entered the area where the table was with glittering goblets spanning the entirety of the ornate temple. There were all kinds of goblets: silver, gold, plain, intricate. He paced up and down the length of the table, analysing each one carefully. Nothing said "Pick me up!" to Dominique, and the young man was confused, especially to the advice given to him about how the "goblet will pick you." Pfft... a bunch of bullshit. Agh, nothing. "I might as well pick up some bog-standard one and be done with it." Wait! There is was. This golden chalice in particular had four sapphire gems around the side, all an equal distance apart. Chains that were sculpted in the gold linked between the crystals. Dominique strangely interpreted the sapphire as a representation of civilisation and the chains were the bonds that keep humanity together. These bonds would be broken if they lost the war. Dominique triumphantly picked up his chosen goblet and the water inside swirled inside, mixing from clear water to red. No... this was not his destiny. Present Dominique awoke from his flashback as he was stepping over a fallen tree. He chuckled to himself, he let himself get distracted. He could've been attacked at any moment. Someone with six years experience as a Harbinger should never do. He raised his crossbow as he scanned the immediate area... Nothing. He held out his arm and called out "Verja!". Like magic, an eagle swooped down through the trees and onto his arm. The scout retracted his arm as he slung his crossbow on his back. He stroked the majestic avian across it's back. "Hello Verja. You hungry?" He asked. The bird squawked in response. "Verja, hunt." He ordered as he stretched out his arm again. The eagle flapped away back up the treeline, supposedly looking for food. Dominique turned back towards the camp where he could finish his patrol.
