The planet of Yrapira is distant enough from the sun to be completely hostile to life due to the cold. However, due to a thick atmosphere and intense volcanic activity the heat ends up trapped in it, forming a warm, humid and foggy ambient. The world is pangea like and most of its areas are composed by swamps.

Among the misty marshes a race was born, the evolution path was similar to that of the earthly mammals, except that due to the nature of the place they (and most species for that matter) never left their amphibious roots.

Currently they still don't dream with exploring the space, still being at the early phases of advancement and just recently starting to use writing systems and farming
