[@Monkeypants] I think leaving the Philippines as a sovereign state is good. But I think we should kind of lessen down the atrocities that America afflicted upon the Filipino people. 200,000 to 250,000 civilians dead, the scorched earth campaigns, extermination of villages and concentration camps is something that most people wouldn't forget. A soldier from New York: "The town of Titatia was surrendered to us a few days ago, and two companies occupy the same. Last night one of our boys was found shot and his stomach cut open. Immediately orders were received from General Wheaton to burn the town and kill every native in sight; which was done to a finish. About 1,000 men, women and children were reported killed. I am probably growing hard-hearted, for I am in my glory when I can sight my gun on some dark skin and pull the trigger." Not to say that the Filipinos didn't do anything. Most captured American soldiers were buried or burned alive, tortured most of the time. Our relationship is going to be uneasy at best. But if the Americans have toned it down a little, we can sort out the Philippines as a sovereign state, sure. [@Iluvatar] We also need to sort out the fact that the Sultan of Johor has never met Queen Victoria, meaning that Ibram had never supported the British Crown. Which means that....... I think that choosing the United Thai-Phil-Malay State was a bit more complicated than I thought XD
