Ryan smiled happily as he followed Acacia to her Toyota Hilux. He couldn't help but notice her footprints were in the shape of bare feet. Sure enough, when he saw her feet rise out of the snow from taking another step, both feet were both completely shoe-less and sock-less. He was about to make a comment about her choice of footwear, or lack of more accurately, until he saw her go around to the back of the pick-up and pull out a pair of boots from the tailgate. Having nothing else to do, he shouted, "Shotgun!" before climbing into the passenger seat of the vehicle. Someone could say that he had no reason to call shotgun, but he wasn't sure if Truth was going to be back and try to take the seat. There was no way he would sit in the tailgate, in the cold, all the way to the town. Ryan didn't even know how far away the town was or how bumpy the ride would be now that he remembered that they weren't exactly driving down a paved road. At least not one that he could see with so many layers of snow.
