Glad to have you! There really isn't a spot to speak of since as long as you follow the C.S. and the character details it's all good. 
Generally I won't force anyone to change gender or age unless the grouping dynamic is too imbalance. As much as possible I want the group be as diverse as possible. So yes, feel free to make a 13 year old girl.


I'm not going to reserve the spot though since that seems unfair. As far as I'm concerned if someone wants to apply, then apply. If we end up having two 13 year old girls then that's how it will be. As long as our team isn't made up of only 13 year old girls (lol) then I think we'll be fine.
