Canada would also later declare war against Italy and Japan.Canadian security relied on British success in this war, along with maintaining national security, politically speaking, some felt it was Canada’s duty to assist her allies. Canada went through many overhauls to their military that was unprepared for war, in the following year they provide troops,supplies, and equipment to Britain .Canada ranked defending itself as high as aiding Britain on their list of priorities and defend British interest in both Pacific and Atlantic theaters.During 1937 the two nations had agreed that any Canadian military equipment manufactured in Canada would use British designs. While this reasonably assumed that its troops would presumably always fight with Britain so the two forces should share equipment and so the Canadian industry manufactures Canadian equipment copying British designs.The Canadian economy boomed during the war as its industries manufactured military materiel for it's Allies in the Commonwealth 


The Canadian Army is primarily a volunteer force to avoid repeating another conscription crisis like in world war one.They have a newly created Royal Canadian Armored Corp and and have many troops deployed to mainland Britain for defense of the island constantly training. troops deployed to Hong Kong fighting against the Japanese invasion of Hong Kong.

The Royal Canadian Air Force provided the majority of Commonwealth pilots, trained under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. They have multiple squadrons in Britain,Africa, and Southeast Asia.The RCAF played key roles in the Battle of Britain, antisubmarine warfare during the Battle of the Atlantic, the bombing campaigns against German industries.

The Royal Canadian Navy defends both of their coast lines and escort merchant ships across the Atlantic and carrying out Anti Submarine operations against German U-Boats . Canada was also given the responsibility of covering two strategically key points in the Atlantic. The first is known as the "Mid-Atlantic Gap", located off the coast of Greenland. This gap was a very hostile point in the supply line which was very difficult to take control.
