Name of Faction/Country: The New Republic of Texas
Leader: President Garry Wail
Type of Government: Democracy
History: Texas was arguably the strongest state after the bombs hit. It quickly became the most populated state because of all the people moving away from the blast zones, and also the loss of population in California. It also had it's own power grid (This is real, if you didn't know- http://www.ercot.com/), the only power grid not to be hit by the bombs. The previous laughable secessionist movement quickly organized and became a real deal. It was 4 months ATB (After The Bombs) before Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Louisiana formally seceded from the union. While they were not the first secession, they were the first one to be taken seriously. The Declaration of Independence and new Constitution were written up, and a Democratic government was setup (Which is not to be confused with the [url=http://www.thisnation.com/question/011.html]US government[/url].).
