Character History : Cassie was the daughter of Doctor Heinz Waller and Doctor Amelia Smithe/Waller both world renowned Marine biologist who mer while doing their Doctoral thesis on the sea life of the south Atlantic. 

Because of her parent's continued work in the sea around the Isle of Tristan da Cunha Cassie grew up in a scientific household and due to it's remote nature was home schooled by her parents and their grad students. She spent almost as much time at sea as she did on land and because of that is an accomplished able body seaman and navigator. 

It was her Uncle Jacques the Captain of the ship she spent so much time on that inspired her to become a Marine engineer and robotics developer. 

When Cassie turned 17 she left home to study Marine Engineering at the University of Rostock in Germany returning home only on summer break.    

While attending school Cassie joined the women's archery team and became an avid hiker an cross country skier. 

When the breakout began Cassie and five of her friends drove to a mountain retreat owned by one of their uncles but had to abandon it and leave due to the desperation of some locals that knew of the cabin. They finally found safety in an emergency shelter built for hikers stranded by weather. Lucky for them it had been stocked with food and emergency supplies.

But their luck soon ran out as they began to die one by one till eventually only Cassie was alive and alone on the remote mountain top.
