A good general rule is that I pick up on undertones and such when it comes to tone, expression, and those kinds of things (excluding references, innuendos, etc.), but because they aren't explicitly stated, I can ignore them without repercussions.
Adding equals capital P to make this sound less serious and more appropriate for a casual conversation.
