It's not so much that she can't leave the ship, but that she won't be able to leave and come back freely if she doesn't side with him. Not to mention that she still has her doubts as to whether there's a catch or not to simply being let free. After all, her first impression of him was of a big fat liar, and that's still going to linger with her.
