A SINGLE GALAXY Most science fiction and space based factional RP’s have a single thing in common: they nominally start the game at the very apex of the space age. Colonies are abundant, technology is frighteningly advanced and the various races of the galaxy are often friends or enemies of one another. I want to turn the clocks back. I want to start a Sci-Fi Nation RP that begins just as your nation discovers its own version of Faster-Than-Light travel and begins to inch out of its own solar system. I want the uncertainty of what lies on the other side of the void. I want those initial, unsure diplomatic relations between a new race. I want that proverbial Cold War where neither side still understands each other and war might break out over something as erroneous as the identification of a freighter as a military vessel. I want a single galaxy that if you want to control or influence, you’ll have to fight for it. Let's embark on a mission that involves tiny first steps where our player nations learn to understand (or conquer) their new neighbors and foster a relationship instead of preordaining one right off the bat. NOTE TO THE PLAYERS: This RP will involve numbers as you navigate $$$, warships, troop movements and population. Have fun! --------------------------------------------------------------- MECHANICS CIVILIZATION: The first and possibly most intrinsic step of this RP will be the creation of your own civilization which will secondarily entail all of it's weaknesses. You will first begin by selecting a Base; The Mammalians are identified through adaptability across the galaxy. The Reptilians can sometimes possess an aggressive and cold demeanor. The Mechanoids are bound by ambitions that seem to transcend the organic brain and the Insectoids threaten to scour the planet with their infestation of new worlds. STATS -Toughness: How physically resistant is your civilization to damage? This does not include external factors like technology or body armor. This attests to both physical deterrence and combative willpower. -Reproduction: What is the normal family size of your civilization and how often do they reproduce? -Industry: How hard and effectively do your people work? -Psyche: Are your people intelligent, capable of deception and able to see it and uncover it themselves. -Morale: How do your people fair in the face of adversity and defeat? YOU HAVE 10 CIV POINTS TO PUT IN WHATEVER CATEGORIES YOU WANT. -- Mammalians: The warm blooded mammalians are the some of the more unique creatures that inhabit the galaxy. They are denoted primarily by the fact they are warm blooded and can only survive on non-Terran worlds with the aid of additional technology. They however can have young nearly anywhere there is oxygen, warmth and water and so it is not surprised that when they do find a way to inhabit a world, it gets inhabited quickly. The mammalians come in all shapes and sizes. -- Reptilians: These cold blooded alienoids are denoted by the subsects of Saurian and Amphibos. The Saurian subsects are characterized primarily by scales, sometimes the appearance of elongated snouts and tails. The Amphibos usually possess a slimier skin and prefer semi-aquatic environments. -- Mechanoids: Synthetic and artificial intelligences have existed since civilization started to wander it's way into the great stars of the galaxy, but only in the last hundred years has technology evolved to the point of complete sentience. Whether linked directly to a greater Artificial Intelligence or linked through specialization cores, there is one fact that astounds all organics. Mechanoids are here to stay. -- Insectoids: In some galaxies, insectoids took a back seat to the evolutionary dogfight, become fodder to amphibians and aquatics. In other solar systems the evolutionary chain was wrought by chitinous exoskeletons and eight and ten legged creatures. Insectoids can survive in almost every environment possible. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ACCEPTED NATIONS - - - Jirrahians (? GPP | ? POP | ?
