I was expecting that you would have to

go back in time since the events and decisions in the previous chapters would have either been for nothing, somehow remained, or a different alternate story could have been created from that reality.

But the decisions that Chloe gave you before things went back to normal was what really surprised. But I had to selected to refuse her request.
