Eh, full-plate armour was actually pretty light compared to the stuff everyday soldiery were trekking around in back in the day. You could easily roll around and even do back-flips (if you're acrobatic, of course) in full-plate armour.

My thoughts exactly (or nearly exactly)
The way I see it playing out is something catastrophic happening and the Galbar entering something of a dark age, where both magical and mundane technology regress greatly, then things start developing once more. We'll probably have a more diverse number of nations given the greater size of the landmass now as compared with when it was just Arguilla.
