Following Ryan was a short pause as the five of them simply stared at each other. The awkward silence was a thick cloud that hung in between them all. Sure they weren't at each other's throats but there didn't seem to be any improvement in their relations. Carter glanced over at the woman who seemed reluctant to say anything at all so he figured it was his turn. "I'm Carter. I was in New York when it happened and have been surviving on the move since then." He looked over at Clover who was staring at the ground. "Same with Clover." He said, nodding toward her. He knew she didn't want to say anything. "We found her i-" Clover cleared her throat interrupting him before he could finish the sentence. She didn't need them to know about her past. The less they knew, the less attached they became and the less she needed to worry about them in return. "We've been traveling together for almost a year now." Carter continued, moving forward with their brief history. "Started about twenty strong until we dwindled down to just us two. Lost most of us along the East Coast with only four left by the time we hit Georgia. We left with three, heading West in pursuit of rumors of safety and a cure. Lost one more on the way here and we still haven't found what we're looking for. For now we're keeping on the road, stocking up on what we can find before we continue on our way." He stopped, looking at each of them in turn and committing their faces to memory. He had a feeling that if they all somehow got a long, they were going to be seeing plenty of each other in the near future. Unlike Clover who could take her time, he knew he'd have to get comfortable with the others quick. Their survival depended on not only each other but remaining on the move and with dark approaching and the possibility of walkers being attracted to all the noise made earlier, they needed to finish up soon. For now, that was all the information he was willing to give. When they had more time later, they could share more. "Also... my name is Clover... not Clo, squirt, girl... Clover." She finished just as a faint noise caught her attention. She snapped her head to the right, looking down the road for the source but didn't see a thing. At this point it could have been anything... and she, like Carter realized that time was no longer on their side. It was quickly getting dark and something was coming down upon them.
