Her family trained diplomats, her path was always clear. She would go on to represent queen and country in the future and it was all she wanted to do. Though from a young age she was always interested in the past. Though this didn't truly come out until she was in her later years at high school, A-Level History was a crash course but she was immediately hooked on the subject. She devoted as much time as possible too it, though part of her wished that instead of focusing on more recent history they focused on the truly fascinating stuff. After all everyone knew about the First World War and the Second World War. Though the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians on the other hand... many knew about them but they were the true forgers of society and there was so much she could learn. She even felt that the current world could learn lessons from the past, great lessons that could change the world. Little did she know that after she left university her life would change. Her father, Martin Evans was one of the first members outside of the US governmental system to be told about the Stargate Program. Having been his aide, and signing a non-disclosure agreement she has wanted nothing more to join the program. There was so much going on... out there. Who wouldn't want to be a part of it? The secrecy was a little to be desired but she could understand why it was so important. When the IOA was formed she became a junior member, not holding that much importance. From there she would occasionally sit in during a meeting between a member of the Asgard and the IOA finding them truly fascinating. She was literally heartbroken when she heard about their demise, but saw an opportunity. Whenever she could she learned from the Asgard knowledge core, which is why when the IOA were looking for someone to send aboard the Nyx to Ida, with her knowledge on the Asgard, eagerness to learn and diplomatic skills she was an easy choice. That being coupled with the fact that the IOA did not want to risk sending a senior member, when all the representative aboard the Nyx is supposed to do is write reports.
