Something like that. Your Archtype is largely based on your avatar abilities, so they're more of a guide line. For example Arms Slave third Avatar Ability could make him into the perfect tank to draw enemy fire onto him, but also handy for a berserker so he can get all the enemies within melee range. On the other hand someone like Dark Wraith is a straight up Necromancer since her third ability is about bringing back the dead, though future abilities may dip into the other archtypes so long as they aren't too OP, like having the ability to also summon demons.
