Without noticing, Ezekiel moved to stand between the shadow girl and the newcomers. He still didn't like her, but the thought of her being in danger put him in a weird primordial discomfort that he somehow had to act against. Only after the others moved away that he allowed himself to step to the side, far out of her way, and look her over. Her inner works were more visible now - anger and helplessness. She was slamming against the walls of her cage with every step, he thought, challenging them constantly while grinding herself to dust. When he noticed he was staring at her, Ezekiel coughed and quickly turned away. He quickly moved towards a door to a random room that wasn't being searched by the others, to continue solving this riddle in the only way he knew.
