Liam used a few potions and other such items to make his trained pokemon fighting fit, a piece of advice his mother had given him a few days before he started his journey. He entered Surge's gym. Surge immediately called him a 'baby' and called on Raichu. Liam scanned Raichu with his pokedex. (since it was just typed I am not going to post it.) Liam called on Phanpy. The small blue pokemon gave a happy cry when it emerged. Surge scoffed. "You think that baby blue joke of a pokemon will beat my Raichu? I just stomped another trainer today that had the same thought. "Raichu, Iron Tail." Surge called.
 "Defense Curl!" Liam called. Phanphy curled up into a ball to increase its defense.
 "[i] That little punk is going to use Rollout next, what a predictable strategy perfectly suited to a baby.[/i]" Surge thought to himself.
"Now ,Attract!" Liam called. Phanphy uncurled and winked at Raichu, who fell in love. Raichu used Iron Tail and hit critically. 
"Defense Curl!" Liam called. 
Raichu was immoblized with love and unable to use Iron Tail again while Phanphy began Rollout. Raichu was to lovestruck to make another move and was KO'd quickly. Surge gave Liam the Thunder Badge. Liam thanked him and went to the center where he saw Shirauni. "Hey, guess who just won the Thunder Badge!" He said with a smile.
