So this was what high school was like... Tora had to be honest, he wasn't thrilled with it. Noisy, clustered, messy and smelly were words that came to mind immediately. Cigarette smoke seemed to cling to half the student body here, and apparently 'quiet' wasn't a word in these kids' repertoire. Maybe it was just the culture shock giving him a hard time adjusting, it was certainly a different place here after all. Hoping to avoid being caught up in the chaos of it all he was doing his best to keep his head low and keep on moving. He had very little desire to become involved anyways, so avoiding contact with everyone was fairly simplistic. Already he was being labelled as the weird, anti-social new kid, and that was just fine by him. So long as that tag stuck he figured he'd be left alone, and what's more he could operate with relative impunity. At least from classmates that is. From first period he learned that teachers here, while rather lax were still quick to pick out your doing something wrong and punish you for it. Apparently snooping school grounds while on a "bathroom break" was a breach of their rules, and he had been unceremoniously marched back to his classroom by the vice-principal, retuning to a chorus of laughter. If he wasn't the one in the situation he'd probably be laughing too. History in this school was turning out to be rather fascinating, if only because it was abridged. Reading through the text as the instructor droned on Tora almost couldn't believe half of the stuff he was reading. There were so many holes in what was written here, and so many falsities that he almost burst out laughing. It was all he could do not to raise his hand and correct the teacher, having to remind himself of his place. He wasn't the instructor here, he was a student, and a new one at that. Besides being that alone garnered him plenty of attention already, the last thing he had to do was act like a know it all, even if he certainly did know more than these kids. This was quickly turning into the most painstaking fifty-five minutes of his life. The last twenty or so were easily spent staring out the window, silently praying for the class to end. Such a bore, and he had to do this until he'd accomplished what had been asked of him, what a drag. Mercifully the bell sounded not too long after, signaling the end to this torturous lesson. Homework was assigned right at the end, and was likely something that could be completed in five minutes tops. Work here was so simplistic it was a wonder that all of these kids were seeming to struggle with the concept. The sheer degree of shock that their stupidity induced made him feel sorry for them, almost. They were too annoying to sympathize with properly, no matter how hard he tried. With all the other students walking to their next class he had to stop for a moment, standing up along the wall to check his schedule. He'd not gotten down their peculiar class schedule yet, finding these "block" bits rather confusing. It took him a second to figure out what day in the schedule it was, and from there he found his next class. "English, huh...?" he mumbled, frowning slightly. "Wonderful..." Hopefully this wasn't going to be as painstakingly droll as History had been. Reading wasn't something that he was particularly averted to, but if this school's reading level was as basic as he worried it to be then it'd be every bit as a toil as the last class. Tucking away his schedule back in his bag he slung it over his shoulder, adjusting his glasses before stepping into the stream of students heading down the hall. Room 203... That ought to be in the next hall over. At least the building itself wasn't that difficult to navigate, as everything was laid out in an easy to follow order. There were about a dozen rooms down each wing, and depending on the wing they were 110, 210 or 310. There was another floor above as well, presumably they went up further to 410, but he hadn't bothered to check yet. Giving a dismissive shake of his head he stopped outside of his class, double checking the numbers on the plaque to make sure it was right before he stepped in. The room at the moment was pretty empty, perhaps only half a dozen students being inside. The teacher was nowhere to be seen yet, so he had a moment to relax then. Smiling to himself Tora walked inside and looked around the room, trying to decide on a seat to take. He wanted to avoid sitting near anyone if at all possible, but realistically that was going to be nigh impossible. Finally he opted for a seat towards the back, dropping his bag with a thud on the tiled floor before slipping himself in between the back of the chair and the desk. He had very little intention of paying any mind to what was being discussed, and being back here now was going to make it easier to zone out. Slowly but surely students then began to file into the room, taking up the other seats and much to his chagrin those around him as well. Just to keep his facade up Tora took out his book and notebook, opening the latter to an empty page to take notes if needed. When the teacher finally came in he looked ahead dully, crossing one leg over the other and resting his head in an outstretched hand, trying to get comfortable. Let the dullness begin...
