I'm sure her curiosity will get the better of her not to mention that people sleep only eight hours a day, so I've prepared an four hour slot to interact. The feeding of the animals only takes an hour and must be done twice one in the morning and once before dusk. She could sleep in the middle of the day and get up when he does. I left it like this so not to force your character to interact but allow her to make a choice on whether or not she would. 

On a side note, it may be part of his research as a tiger to see if a person would still be willing to converse with him. =)
