As for the powers mixing together, I'm not entirely sure it works like that but manipulating the sand into constructs, then imbuing them with energy to make them into sharpnel explosives is one way I could see them utilizing the two abilities.

[@Akayaofthemoon]I think they'd be balanced until Mars' pride was somehow besmirched by their opponent. That'll get him angry really quickly, and then the entire fusion would probably fall apart. Oh, and what do you thing about the Shakujo idea for their combined weapon.
