Max was in complete and utter shock when Sentinel burst into the hanger and then upon seeing what fate had befallen the twins went into a mindless rage. The Kryptonian attacked him and hit Max with a high-powered punch to the chest. The sheer force of the blow would have killed any normal human upon impact, but his unbreakable ribcage took the brunt of the hit. The blow still caused him to fly back at least thirty feet before slamming into the wall of the hanger. He was in a lot of pain and dazed momentarily by the punch. When his mind cleared he remembered that the hanger was still swarmed with husks and he quickly got to his feet. Thankfully he had dropped his bat close by after being hit by the crazed Sentinel and he quickly rushed to pick it up just in time bash a zombies' head with a powerful swing. It was at that moment when Zuggernaut was killed and the husks reverted back to normal. Max was speechless as he watched what he had thought was no long possible happen before him. The zombies were human again and then a horrible feeling entered his body and he felt sick. He had killed innocent people who could have been cured somehow and now Max had their blood on his hands. He dropped his baseball bat and fell to his knees and then vomited onto the floor. "Oh...Oh God! What have I done?!" he said as he began to hyperventilate from having a full-on panic attack and tears began to fall from his eyes. The zombie he had killed before they changed back was now the body of a sweet looking young girl who looked to be slightly younger than he was, and he had horribly killed her. Max had seen some gruesome crimes happen, but nothing made him more disgusted and sick than seeing that he killed people especially this girl, he could have saved them. He didn't know how long he stayed there and it didn't matter to him. Max eventually picked himself up off of the floor and slowly went to his room. A day had passed since the horrible tragedy and he heard the emergency address that president Luther made to the country and felt a deep sorrow enter his body upon hearing the total number of innocent civilians that had died in San Francisco. He then heard the helicopters and tanks approach, he thought himself, we deserve to be locked away. But the more stubborn part of his brain told him that they didn't know and would have died had they not fought. Max then thought of Sentinel and Rufus and his anger boiled up. He wanted to yell at them so badly now and upon hearing Sentinel's voice come on over the communicators he wanted to tell the kryptonian to go fuck himself, but he kept himself from doing so. Right now they had to get out of this place and then he would unleash his fury upon his two teammates. Max entered the kitchen and looked at JC hoping that his teammate would still be willing to lead them. "What now?" he asked Thermo with his voice full of guilt and sadness. If they escaped then they would be hunted relentlessly by the authorities. He would probably have to never go home or see his parents so that they didn't become involved in this mess. He also didn't want to see the look on his dad's face when he saw that his own son had thrown his life away. His dad was crippled for the rest of his life and now Max would have this crippling guilt for the rest of his life now.
